1.SAT是啥? The SAT Reasoning Test ( ScholasticAssessment Test) is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The SAT is owned, published, and developed by the College Board, a not-for-profit organization in the United States. It was formerly developed, published, and scored by the Educational Testing Service which still administers the exam. The test is intended to assess a student's readiness for college.
SAT是美国高中生的所谓“高考”,但能否读四年制大学并不取决于一个SAT分数。SAT由美国的College Board举办,在美国领土上每年举办7次,其它地方每年6次。考试用英语,包括阅读、数学和英语三个部分。SAT成绩是世界各国高中生申请美国名校学习及奖学金的重要参考。
2.Ivy League 常春藤The Ivy League is an athleticconferencecomprising eight private institutions of higher education in the Northeastern United States. The conference name is also commonly used to refer to those eight schools as a group. The eight institutions are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. The term Ivy League also has connotations of academic excellence, selectivity in admissions, and social elitism.

3. “海归”应该咋说?
returned students在英文中指返校生,显然不适合作为海归的翻译。returned talents after studying abroad,意为从海外留学归来的人才,但解释明显偏离中性的定义而带有歧视性的褒义色彩。因而一般将“海归”翻译为:People returned back to the homecountry after finishing overseas study。
